Mobirise is a simple editor intended to build small websites, such as landing pages, portfolios and different types of promo websites. With this tool, most of the otherwise difficult part about building your own website can be done quite easily by simply dragging blocks to the desired position within the page. That is why Mobirise is specifically oriented for inexpert people, even if they do not have any coding skills. This does not mean, however, that more experienced users cannot benefit from its incredible usability.

One of the main advantages of this program is that it can create responsive websites. In this respect, it is excellent that you can switch between two WYSWYG views: Desktop and Mobile. Luckily, the tool is based on Bootstrap framework, which ensures flawless website optimization.

Most of the operations are done from the dashboard, with various sections, including the workspace, the settings menu and a panel from which you add the blocks. You can start by creating a structure for your site by adding pages or creating copies of existing ones. Then, you can simply drag and drop blocks, which are quite similar to templates but, instead of a whole page, they are used to create just a section. There are various themes or sets of blocks to choose from. In this regard, there are blocks specifically meant to include headers, footers, content, sliders, galleries, etc. The properties and the elements in a block can be additionally adjusted as well. Common modifications include icons, texts, images, links, and fonts; yet, it is not allowed to alter the overall format of a block.

There are various ways to publish the resulting site. For instance, you can upload your project to an FTP site, with the support of both local servers and Cloud-based services. Likewise, the tool allows saving the site to a local folder. Fortunately, it lets you update the site, which means you do not need to transfer all the site contents, except for those that have changed since the last publishing.

The functionalities of the program can be expanded by adding extensions. These include drop-down menus, Twitter feed, Sound Cloud and Google Analytics. This operation, as well as updating the software and getting support, requires the login. Good news is you do not need to create a new account, as it allows using Google and Facebook credentials.

To sum up, Mobirise is close to being the ideal mobile website builder for inexpert users as it lets you create fantastic adaptive websites without much effort. The only limitation I can think of now is that it does not allow to modify the format of blocks so the websites you create can actually look very similar. Fortunately, the product is free to use for both commercial and non-commercial purposes. However, some of the extensions and themes should be purchased. An all-in-one kit can also be bought if you prefer so.
